The Catskill Folklife Museum at Grand Gorge is set 2,500 feet from the spot at which European American settlement began in Roxbury\Grand Gorge. Its mission is to acquaint visitors of all ages with the history of the first people of this Catskill region and the diverse Native and European cultures whose technologies and interactions came together to become Catskill communities through the colonial period to the beginning of the State of New York. It is our goal to create a clear understanding of our present through a journey into our region's past.
